This will come to ZERO shock to anyone who knows me well, but I am someone who is a perfectionist. I obsess about what the perfect diet for me should be and what the "perfect" exercise regiment is for me. I wonder if I should be doing crossfit, doing only olympic lifting, doing powerlifting, 3 day split specific split, 5-3-1, insanity, running, HIIT bodyweight cardio, p90x, yoga and or circuit training (or a combo of all this stuff). There is seriously no "best" or perfect program. It is a load of crap to look for that. I am not even going to geek out (or look like an idiot) and list off all of the ridiculous dieting things I have attempted in my 24 years of life. I know deep down what to do, but I am always looking for that thing that is more perfect.
Anyhoo, all of this brings me to Jillian. It is no secret I have been a super fan of Jill since I first got into fitness. I decided to bite the bullet and get Jillian's 90 day plan body revolution. It is a intense 90 day plan that takes all of the thought out of diet and exercise (which is a bonus for me). I have zero time to worry about all of this kind of stuff and for me working out now if my self care to help me deal with the stressors of being a social worker.
I am not going to share this blog with any of my friends and family until I am (I still might not share it) doing the program and more of less use it to track my results.

Detoxing from technology
Have you ever sat down and thought long and hard about all of the media that you consume on a day to day basis? From the hours you spend on the internet doing next to nothing or the time you spend in front of the idiot box watching television shows you really did not care about? Or using apps on your phone to "connect" with friends when a simple text or email would probably be a much better connection. I wonder if all of this media is having an impact on our brains and I personally am making an effort to disconnect myself from it when possible (I have bought myself a few carrier pigeons which will come in handy this year!).
I decided to deactivate my facebook account because I found that I was spending way to much time on it. I was comparing myself to girls that I barely knew and it was just plain unhealthy. For all I know the same people were probably doing it to me and I think that is is selling myself short to see only the positive in others but shine a negative light on character traits in myself. I know I do this a ton and it is something I am working on.
I have had a rough couple of weeks eating wise because I was on vacation and I had a stressful week sorting some stuff out with my job and for school. I hate to admit it, but I am an emotional eater. When I am stressed, I eat and I know I need to find ways to cope with this if I want to stay healthy because I know it is a matter of time before I give myself diabetes or a heart attack. Being that I am only 24 and am a healthy weight, I just want to be back into my skinny pants. plain and simple.
This Aug I am doing Jillian Michael's fitness program Making the Cut. I love Crossfit when it is executed properly (proper mobility work, emphasis on form and not weight) and I personally found that this was not really happening at my box and I was finding that I would go and be flipping sore for a week after. I also cannot afford to keep on going to Crossfit with school coming up and I think it is prudent of me to find a lifestyle that does not bang up my body. I am going to blog about the specifics of this program and talk about my results when it is over (I am not going to let anyone know my current weight because I don't even know it).
